  Our Discoveries and Restitutions

The Foundation acts on behalf of the art or cultural object in question, without favoritism, without an agenda. It has to date located and returned more than forty objects, including paintings, manuscripts, tapestries and other cultural objects to governments, museums, universities and individuals in the United States, Germany, Italy, and Poland. Most of these objects were in the possession of those who fought in the war (or a relative), who may have taken them as a souvenir without realizing their importance.

If you or someone you know has a work of art or cultural object brought home from Europe that may have been displaced during and after WWII, please call our toll-free tip line: 1-866-WWII-ART, or complete an online contact form. We respond to every lead.
