  First-Hand Participants

In addition to those who served as part of the Monuments, Fine Arts, & Archives section, there were many men and women - soldiers and civilians alike - who might have first located an art repository, served as guards or drivers, or assisted the Monuments Men in any number of ways.

We want to learn their stories too, and honor these men and women who participated in the broader story of the Monuments Men. They should be recognized for their role in the protection of cultural treasures during and after World War II. If you, your family member, or friend has a connection to this story, please contact us and we will add their name and biography to this page.
