Bibliography
on the Looting and Protecting of Cultural Heritage
In an effort to make the legacy of the Monuments Men and Women more broadly known, we have listed every non-fiction publication concerning art looting or the protection of monuments during World War II that we have come across in our many years of research.
Included are works in English, German, Italian, French and Polish, and while this is assuredly not a complete list, it is certainly comprehensive. The Foundation has copies of most of these publications, many of which are no longer in print. The list appears in chronological order, beginning with an Italian publication from 1940, to current.
We welcome comments from others providing us with the name and publishing information of any publications not included on this list that should be added. Please send such information to: info @ monumentsmenandwomenfnd.org.
