Munich served as a British MFAA Officer in Germany as part of the USFET (U.S. Forces, European Theater) Mission to Belgium. In September 1945 he represented the Mission at the formal ceremony in Belgium welcoming home Jan van Eyck’s Ghent Altarpiece.
